As authors of articles published in Spectrum Nexus Publishing journals, you are the copyright holders of your article and grant to any third party, in advance and in perpetuity, the right to use, reproduce or disseminate your article.

Licensing & Copyright

Creative Commons licenses

OA articles in Spectrum Nexus Publishing journals are published under Creative Commons licenses. These provide an industry-standard framework to support easy re-use of OA material. Under Creative Commons licenses, authors retain copyright of their articles.

All articles are published open access under a CC BY (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence) licence.

CC BY: The article may be shared and adapted for any purpose, including commercially, so long as the authors are credited.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

All articles published by Spectrum Nexus Publishing journals are fully open access. To support this model, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) once their manuscript is accepted for publication. This APC helps cover the full cost of the publishing process — from submission, coordinating peer review and editorial work to copyediting, digital archiving, and maintaining the article’s long-term accessibility online under a Creative Commons license.

The APC is determined at the point of acceptance and applies regardless of article length or number of figures. We do not impose word limits, nor do we charge extra for additional visual content, allowing authors the freedom to present their work as fully as needed. However, because we operate on a flat-fee model, we are unable to offer reduced rates for shorter submissions.

Each journal under the Spectrum Nexus Publishing may have its own APC structure. Factors such as the field of research, editorial workflow, and the type of article (e.g., research article, review, short communication) can influence the APC. Where applicable, these variations are clearly detailed on each journal’s website.

Waivers & Discounts

Spectrum Nexus Publishing offers APC waivers to papers whose corresponding authors are based in locations classified by the World Bank as low-income economies and lower-middle-income economies.

Please request your waiver or discount at the point of submission.

Please note that APC waivers and discounts for corresponding authors from low-income and lower-middle-income economies are determined by Spectrum Nexus Publishing based on the following list of eligible countries and regions.

Supported Funder Requirements

Our journals are aligned with the Open Access policies of key funding bodies and initiatives, including:Plan S and cOAlition S,National Institutes of Health (NIH, USA), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), Horizon Europe,Wellcome Trust, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

We also follow best practices outlined by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA).

Open Access Licensing

To meet funder requirements, we offer Creative Commons licenses, including:CC BY (recommended by most funders) and CC BY-ND (on request).

Authors can choose the license that fits their funder's policy and personal preference.

Depositing and Archiving

Published articles are permanently archived and assigned DOIs via Crossref.

Institutional or subject repositories

Long-term digital preservation is ensured through services like LOCKSS and Portico (if applicable).

Acknowledging Funding

We encourage authors to clearly list all sources of research funding in their manuscript, including:Full name of the funding agency, Grant numbers, Any relevant funding program (e.g., Horizon Europe)

Many funders allow grant funds to be used to cover Article Processing Charges (APCs).
