Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Review Articles

Review Articles provide comprehensive, critical, and timely surveys of recent advances in intelligent unmanned systems and related fields. Submissions to this section should synthesize existing research, identify current challenges, and discuss future research directions. All review articles are subject to peer review and editorial assessment.

Research Articles

Research Articles report original and substantial research contributions in the field of intelligent unmanned systems and related areas. Submissions to this section should present clearly defined research questions, sound methodology, original findings, and meaningful technical or practical contributions.

Topics may include, but are not limited to, unmanned aerial, ground, surface, underwater, and space systems; autonomous perception, navigation, control, coordination, communication, sensing, learning, decision-making, human–machine interaction, and real-world applications of intelligent unmanned systems.

All Research Articles are subject to peer review and editorial assessment. Manuscripts should provide sufficient technical details, experimental evidence, analysis, and discussion to support the conclusions. Authors are expected to follow the journal’s ethical, data, authorship, copyright, and open access policies.

Authors who submit manuscripts to the Journal of Intelligent Unmanned Systems (JIUS) agree to the following copyright and licensing terms.

Authors retain the copyright of their work. Upon acceptance for publication, the authors grant the Journal of Intelligent Unmanned Systems and its publisher, Spectrum Nexus Publishing Pte. Ltd., the right of first publication and a non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, preserve, index, and make available the article as the Version of Record.

All articles published in the Journal of Intelligent Unmanned Systems are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). By submitting a manuscript, the corresponding author confirms on behalf of all authors that:

  2. the manuscript is original and has not been published previously, except where clearly disclosed to the journal;

  3. the manuscript is not under consideration for publication elsewhere;

  4. all third-party materials, including figures, tables, images, datasets, long quotations, or other copyrighted content, have been used with appropriate permission, license, acknowledgement, or legal basis;

  5. any material not covered by the CC BY 4.0 license is clearly identified in the manuscript;

  7. the authors take responsibility for the accuracy, originality, research integrity, ethical compliance, and legal compliance of the submitted work.

No copyright transfer to the journal or publisher is required. The authors remain free to share, deposit, reuse, and distribute the accepted manuscript and the published Version of Record, provided that the original publication in the Journal of Intelligent Unmanned Systems is properly acknowledged.
