Ethical Guidelines

The Journal of Intelligent Unmanned Systems is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and fairness in the peer review process. These guidelines outline the ethical responsibilities of reviewers when evaluating manuscripts for our journal. They are based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.

Reviewers are expected to:

Act with Integrity: Evaluate submissions objectively, fairly, and promptly.

Maintain Confidentiality: All manuscript materials and communications must remain confidential.

Declare Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must recuse themselves from cases where they have personal or professional conflicts.

Avoid Misuse: Information from peer review must not be used for personal gain.

Report Concerns: Any suspicion of plagiarism, unethical behavior, or misconduct should be reported to the editor.

Citation Recommendations: If suggesting the inclusion of additional references, reviewers should ensure that these recommendations are scientifically justified. Citation suggestions should never be made with the intent to promote the reviewer’s own work or that of their associates.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools: Reviewers must not use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Claude) to read, summarize, or evaluate manuscripts unless explicitly authorized by the Editor. If AI tools are used for limited purposes (e.g., grammar checks), reviewers must ensure that confidentiality is preserved. Reviewers remain fully responsible for the accuracy, fairness, and originality of their review reports.
